Handicap Entrances

The American Disibilites Act (ADA) is pressing to have more businesses handicap accessible. More & more businesses are adding handicap operators to their entrances.

ADA Standards have mandated that door handles and locks be at a level that can be reached by wheel chairs occupants. They now mandate 10" bottom rails to prevent glass breakage by wheel chairs and ramps where needed. Handicap operators are becomming more and more prevelant.

Handicap operators are used by the handicapped as well as those moving materials in and out and even those just carring bags. Some operators are set up to assist all as a preference of the facility management.

Note! Doors that retract and some swing doors are considered automatic doors. These however open much faster and require more safeguards.
